Five automations that pay for themselves in a month
2 April 2026 · 5 min read
Automation is a word that has been ruined by marketing decks. When we say it, we mean something very specific: pieces of software doing the copy-pasting your team is currently doing by hand.
Here are five we've built for clients recently that paid back in under a month.
1. Lead to CRM to WhatsApp
Contact form submission creates a CRM record, notifies the right salesperson on WhatsApp, and schedules a follow-up if there's no reply in 24 hours. Saves the founder from being the on-call intake person.
2. Invoice status sync
Your accounting tool and your project management tool don't talk. Every Monday, a job checks which invoices are overdue and updates the project card so the account manager knows before the client does.
3. Onboarding checklist
New customer signs up, Slack channel created, welcome email sent, tasks appear in the ops board, calendar invite for the kickoff call. What used to take twenty minutes of clicking now takes zero.
4. Weekly ops digest
A single Monday-morning email with numbers from every tool your team uses. No dashboards to log into, no can-you-pull-that-report pings.
5. Backup and audit
Every night, snapshots of your critical data get written to cold storage. Not exciting until the day someone deletes the wrong row.
None of these are glamorous. All of them free up hours a week. The right question isn't should we automate — it's which piece of copy-paste hurts the most right now.
